Ivory Coast's pivotal election

Ivory Coast's pivotal election

By Tidjane Thiam

When I declared my intention to run for the presidency of Côte d’Ivoire earlier this year, I had specific ideas about what the campaign would involve: extended trips to connect with voters in rural communities, lively discussions with my rivals on national TV, and late evenings analyzing poll results.

Six months on, those hopes now feel outdated. As the October presidential election draws near, the voting system is mired in continuous court disputes. Rather than connecting with voters during the campaign, I have found myself spending too much time in conference rooms, surrounded by legal consultants.

In May, my name was taken off the ballot following a court decision stating that the French citizenship I possessed when I declared my candidacy made my Ivorian citizenship invalid. This judgment applied a legal rule that had been in place since 1961 but had never been used against any person with dual nationality. Consequently, I was deemed ineligible to run for or serve in high office.

Even though I gave up my French citizenship in March, the Independent Electoral Commission (ICE) argues that it was too late and maintains that there isn't enough time before the October presidential election to add my name back to the ballot. This stance is particularly puzzling, considering I am not a minor candidate. In 2023, I was chosen as the leader of the Democratic Party of Ivory Coast-African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA), the nation's leading opposition party, with 96.5% of the delegates' votes. Multiplepollssuggest I could defeat the President in a one-on-one raceAlassane Ouattara, should he decide to seek a fourth term.

I am not the sole opposition figure being pushed out of the contest. The recently completed electoral list also excludes former President Laurent Gbagbo, his long-time associate Charles Blé Goudé, and exiled former Prime Minister Guillaume Soro. Along with my disqualification, these exclusions have caused many analysts to doubt if the October election can genuinely be seen as fair.

Currently, the most probable situation is that Ouattara—should he declare his plan to run for re-election—will encounter minimal or no serious competition in his effort to secure a fourth consecutive term. This result would be detrimental to Côte d’Ivoire, significantly speeding up the nation's movement toward a one-party system, or even a one-person regime.

It comes as no surprise that Ouattara's government rejects any claims of judicial interference. However, these rejections have not eased the increasing worries of the public, who believe the legal system is being used as a tool to suppress any opposition leader who could potentially win the presidency.

Certainly, the emergence of electoral authoritarianism is not exclusive to Côte d’Ivoire. Similar strategies have been observed in other nations, where judicial systems are utilized to suppress dissent and maintain the existing order. However, Côte d’Ivoire's recent turbulent history heightens the risk. Particularly, a contested election in 2010 led the country into a violent civil conflict that resulted in the deaths of at least 3,000 individuals.

It is our responsibility to our people to improve. This is why I am urging for patience and requesting the United Nations Human Rights Committee to examine my situation.

The major tragedy is that the present wave of legal attacks is shifting focus away from the pressing challenges confronting Côte d’Ivoire. In a nation where life expectancy is merely62 years– lower than in both Liberia and Mauritania – we need to concentrate on restoring our healthcare system. Considering Ivorian schoolsrank13th among 14 French-speaking African nations in mathematics, addressing our flawed education system must become a top national concern. And Côte d’Ivoire'srecent additionBeing placed on the Financial Action Task Force’s Grey List concerning money laundering should lead to a meaningful conversation about crime prevention and financial openness.

Rather, we are stuck in a false legal system, moving towards fake elections and increasing authoritarian rule. A tiny group has been permitted to damage our institutions and use the state's tools to silence civil society.

There is no proper method to govern a nation. Following our present path, Côte d’Ivoire faces the possibility of falling back into the challenges of previous years. Only a genuinely democratic Côte d’Ivoire can provide the stability needed to advance the country and create long-term prosperity for its citizens.

In an area where poverty and uncertainty have frequently been the standard, I feel that Côte d’Ivoire has the ability to emerge as a symbol of advancement. However, if we allow the foundations of democracy to weaken, we risk missing out on this chance.

Tidjane Thiam serves as the leader of the Democratic Party of the Ivory Coast-African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA).

Shaping the Golden Future: E&P's Bold Step into Indigenous Mining

Shaping the Golden Future: E&P's Bold Step into Indigenous Mining

By\xa0Samuel Lartey(Prof)

sammylaatey@yahoo.com

\xa0On a sunny afternoon on July 5, 2025, key figures from the business world and government representatives came together for a significant event in Accra.

This is where Engineers & Planners (E&P), a Ghanaian-owned mining and construction company, finalized a significant US$100 million portion of a US$130 million Acquisition Facility Agreement with the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID).

This significant achievement represents Ghana's first major, entirely homegrown gold mining initiative at the Black Volta Gold Project. The remaining US$30 million, as promised by EBID President Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, is expected to be finalized by December 2025. Reflecting a sense of national pride and economic aspiration, this agreement sets the stage for a new chapter in Ghana's resource extraction industry.

Ghana's Recovery Plan: A Route to National Success

The Ghanaian government has consistently promoted a "Resource Efficiency and Self-reliance Transformation" (REST) initiative, which focuses on local control and enhancing value from natural resources. E&P's agreement with EBID is in perfect harmony with REST by:

  1. Boosting Sovereign Wealth

By maintaining complete ownership of the Black Volta Gold Project, Ghana gains more authority over income streams, royalty gathering, and tax collection.

  1. Encouraging Value-Addition

Combining mining operations with local processing enhances financial gains and strengthens technical expertise.

  1. Strengthening Local Partnerships

This deal reflects trust in Ghanaian companies, encouraging international collaborators to form partnerships with less reliance on foreign organizations.

Benefits for Stakeholders: Corporate and Investor Perspectives

For E&P, this purchase speeds up its shift from contract mining to becoming a primary operator. The company now has access to funding, improved facilities, advanced machinery, and extensive knowledge, positioning it as a top gold producer.

EBID investors and local financiers also gain from this, as they secure favorable returns on a gold asset in the development phase with significant potential for increased value. With gold priced at approximately US$1,950 per ounce as of mid-2025, even a cautious annual production estimate of 150,000 ounces results in US$292.5 million in yearly gross revenue.

Reimagining the Upper West Region

The Upper West Region is poised to be the core of this initiative and its broader impacts:

  1. Employment:

Numerous employment opportunities in the fields of mining, engineering, transportation, and services.

  1. Infrastructure:

Construction of roads, electricity, water supply, and medical infrastructure.

  1. Agriculture & SMEs:

Local agricultural producers, transportation companies, and hotel services discover new opportunities for income and expansion.

  1. Skills Development:

E&P will provide training to hundreds of local workers in mining operations, safety protocols, and environmental management.

Boosting Local Content and Ghanaian Families

At the heart of this progress is E&P's dedication to local content, aligning with Ghana's 2021 Local Content and Local Participation Regulation. Initiatives include:

  1. Procurement:

At least 70% of the materials obtained from local Ghanaian companies—covering mining supplies like chemicals, fuel, food services, and lodging.

  1. Training:

Vocational and skill-based education for local young people, promoting the concept of "Ghana First" in developing human resources.

  1. Dividends & Taxes:

Income will be directed into government funds, supporting education, healthcare, and social welfare systems.

Financial Consequences: A Driver of Enduring Development

  1. Project Valuation:

Estimated at US\u202f$200–250 million.

  1. Gold Production:

Estimated 150 to 200,000 ounces per year—equivalent to $300 to $390 million annually in revenue at current prices.

  1. Government Receipts:

Projected annual tax, royalty, and export revenues ranging from US$40 to 60 million.

  1. Economic Multiplier:

A contribution to GDP surpassing US$100 million each year, when taking into account downstream services, infrastructure, and consumption.

Honoring Azuma Resources: A Symbol of Ghanaian Leadership

A standout aspect of this agreement is Azuma Resources, an E&P division headed by energetic CEO Dr. Sarah Koomson. The forward-thinking leadership at the company conducted the technical evaluations, demonstrated confidence in the orebody, and organized the financing that gained EBID's support. This project serves as evidence that Ghanaian companies, not only multinational corporations, are capable of developing, funding, and carrying out top-tier mining initiatives.

Azuma's determination mirrors Ghana's increasing confidence in its resource extraction goals. This significant acquisition goes beyond a simple business success, serving as a strong statement for African autonomy and economic revival in the mining sector.

Conclusion

The US $130 million purchase of the Black Volta Gold Project goes beyond a simple business deal; it represents a courageous statement. Ghana's mining future is driven internally, sustainable, and focused on generating value. With the REST agenda in place, all involved parties united, and regional advantages more evident than ever, this achievement could spark a change in tradition, moving from foreign resource extraction to wealth generation by Ghanaians.

Through the integration of bold investment, community emphasis, and forward-thinking leadership, E&P along with its creative subsidiary Azuma Resources has not only transformed Ghana's mining story but also established a benchmark for locally-led progress throughout Africa.

How Chorale de Kigali Cultivates Timeless Musical Excellence

How Chorale de Kigali Cultivates Timeless Musical Excellence

Rwanda's leading Catholic choir, Chorale de Kigali (CDK), has remained consistent with its identity and delivered exceptional live musical performances, spiritual expression, and talent development for over six decades. The choir has overcome challenges associated with a world where musical trends change quickly and vocal authenticity is often overshadowed by digital enhancements. ALSO READ: Chorale de Kigali to celebrate World Music Day with 'Voices in Harmony Concert' Their latest concert on the occasion of World Music Day held at Kigali Universe left the audience of classical music enthusiasts amazed and moved by the talent each chorist displayed. "Chorale de Kigali is more than a Catholic choir," said Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, a passionate music lover. From singing works by Handel, Mozart, Chopin, or Rwandan composers to performing Mozart's Le Mariage de Figaro, Rossini's Le Barbier de Séville, and other classical plays with perfection, Nduhungirehe described the choir as the Opéra de Kigali made up of musical virtuosos with incredible voices. Founded in 1963 by seminary-trained musicians such as Claver Karangwa, Leon Mbarushimana, Callixte Kalisa, Paulin Muswahili, and Saulve Iyamuremye, the choir initially started as a men-only ensemble inspired by the choral traditions of Catholic seminaries. Over time, it has evolved into a powerful and inclusive platform with over 150 active members, 60% of whom are young people, dedicated to the craft of live performance and vocal mastery. ALSO READ: When live performances become Rwandan music’s weak link A choir that builds voices from the ground up Germaine Utembinema is one of the longest-serving members in the choir, having joined in 1999 as a teenager. She stated that Chorale de Kigali is more than just a musical group but a nurturing family. "I came without knowing anything," she told The New Times, "But I've come to learn how to sing, about legendary performers, and how to evaluate vocal abilities." Through mentorship, regular rehearsals, and inspiration from global talents, Utembinema developed her soprano skills and grew both spiritually and musically. Rehearsals are taken seriously and occur three times a week in the evenings after work. Each session lasts two hours and focuses not only on individual vocal improvement but also on team coordination. "Our trainers usually tell us that we should remember we have a lot to give the audience. You are the best person in the hall. It's also amazing to see people turn up for you. The more you get used to it, the more it encourages you and eventually helps you deliver a great performance," she said. "We were fortunate to get the best trainers who encouraged us to learn from others who had done it perfectly. By that time, technology had already been introduced and helped us learn more lessons from them. It grew and was benchmarked against others. We shared lessons with other choirs, we practiced, and that's how we grew," she added. "If over 100 people can sing well in harmony, you can imagine the energy and discipline it takes," explains Jean Claude Byiringiro, a trainer and long-time member who joined in 1994, just months after the Genocide against the Tutsi. However, the genocide almost destroyed the choir. Many members were killed or forced into exile. "It was almost no more," said Byiringiro, who was then a young seminarian. "Reviving it took only three committed individuals but music lovers soon joined, including students from universities and seminaries." ALSO READ: Challenges affecting the growth of Rwanda’s music industry Among those who helped resurrect the choir was Jean Claude Hodari, the current president. He credits the role of resilience and structure in the choir's rebirth. "We were registered as a non-profit organisation aiming to develop written music to international standards," Hodari says. He explained that aspiring members go through a three-month probation period after submitting a formal application. During this time, their vocal range, be it soprano, alto, tenor, or bass, is assessed, or their instrumental talent is evaluated. Upon approval by a general meeting, they are officially inducted into the choir. However, talent development doesn't stop at vocal training. "We also train them how to compose," says Byiringiro. "Special time is dedicated to soloists, helping them deliver performances at a world-class level." "Just like how one joins a team as a newbie, it's the same when joining a choir. Trainers help the person take some steps until they reach a satisfying level. It's a similar situation in the choir as well. In the choir, there's teamwork, and that's where we place most of our focus. For everyone who sings, we're now exceeding 100 people. If all those people stand together to sing—and sing well—you can imagine the energy it takes," he explained. Chorale de Kigali's mission extends beyond singing in church. They interpret global musical history for Rwandan audiences, performing pieces that span centuries and continents, from 15th-century European compositions to traditional Rwandan melodies arranged in Pentatonic scales. Some of the music in their repertoire dates back to 1400 BC, originally played in Syria, and includes Greek music from 100 BC. During the World Music Day concert on June 21, they performed a rich fusion of classical and contemporary sounds, performing pieces like Turate u Rwanda, Tiritomba, Chiquitita, and the UEFA Champions League Anthem. With each piece, the choir illustrated how human stories and emotions can be conveyed across languages and generations through live performance. Embracing modernity while staying rooted To keep their sound fresh and relevant, the choir has recently started integrating modern instruments such as the violin, flute, trumpet, saxophone, and violoncello, many played by foreigners and local collaborators. "We are recruiting new talent to spice up our performances," Hodari says. "Live instrumentation is something we're expanding to inspire young Rwandans and grow their love for this kind of music." At its core, Chorale de Kigali remains committed to live, unfiltered music. Every note performed is real, every harmony rehearsed, and every voice shaped with intention. Whether singing sacred hymns or 15th-century operas, they connect audiences with the raw essence of music. For many members, the choir is not just a hobby but a healing space and a source of daily motivation. "Singing helps me relax," says Utembinema. "After a rehearsal, I wake up refreshed, ready to work, because I did something I loved last evening." ALSO READ: Chorale de Kigali adds World Music Day concert to choir’s calendar The choir has made an indelible legacy for decades "For example, we composed songs for Radio Rwanda. They composed a song at the launch of the Rusumo Bridge in 1972 that praised the development, the leaders, and also the Central Bank of Rwanda. They performed in many festivals outside the religious context but gained more popularity in many Catholic churches and mass gatherings."

I Almost Didn't Sing "Shape of You" — Ed Sheeran

I Almost Didn't Sing "Shape of You" — Ed Sheeran

...Song titled No. 1 'Most-Streamed Track of the Last Decade'

To mark the achievement, Ed Sheeran met with Apple Music's Zane Lowe to discuss the creation of 'Shape of You' and the song's enduring influence. ROTIMI IGE shares highlights.

Ed Sheeran discusses with Apple Music the creation of "Shape of You" and how he nearly didn't perform it himself...

Do you know what, when I wrote it, it never even occurred to me… I know this sounds strange, but I've written countless songs like that. Obviously, not exactly like this, but around 100 times where you're in the studio and you just think, "Let's create a mood and then just get through it, move on to the next one. At the end of the day, we'll look back at the five or six songs we've done and see if there's something good in there." So, it was the first day I worked with Steve Mac, me and Johnny went in and we just powered through, song after song, song after song. And at the end of the day, we looked back and said, "This one's okay." Then we were working on drums for a track on 'Divide' called "Eraser" that night. So, me and Johnny went to RAK Studios, and I played it [“Shape of You”] to Ben Cook and Ed Howard, who were the head of Asylum Records, who basically had me, Charli xcx, Anne-Marie, and Rudimental on their label. I said to them, "This could easily be a Rudimental song that you could get Rihanna on." And they said, "You're crazy. You should keep this one." And I said, "I don't know."

I'm just hearing it in a drum and bass beat now, I'm just hearing. "Oh ah, oh ah, oh ah, oh ah".

Do you understand what I'm saying? It just seemed like it could have fit in there. And then my album was flawless. "Castle on the Hill," "Happier." It was all within one genre. So, it felt like, as you mentioned, an exception. But I'm really glad I released it. It's only now, looking back, that I wish I had recognized how unique those moments were, because at the time I was just comparing it to everything else, and Kendrick's "DAMN." had come out, and I remember thinking, "That has had way more cultural impact than 'Shape of You.'" And so, I felt... I don't know, I felt strange about it the whole time, but now it's been eight years. I still play that song everywhere around the world. I can go anywhere in the world, even deep in the jungle of Cambodia, and I know that song. It's really reached some crazy places.

Ed Sheeran discusses with Apple Music how 'Shape of You' resonates with listeners around the world...

My point is that I've never considered 'Shape of You' as the song that defines me or the one I'll be known for. Yet it's strange because wherever we go around the world, we perform everywhere. Recently, we went to Bhutan, and that song was a hit there. Me and Cher have visited remote areas in Antarctica, Cambodia, and outback Australia, and that song somehow ends up being played everywhere.

Well, as you have this excellent hook, which I believe transcends trends and crosses language barriers.

But the rhythm too, because originally when I was creating it, I thought, "This is a dancehall rhythm." But then, when I was in India, they said, "Oh no, this is a Punjabi banger rhythm." And then when I was somewhere else, they'd say, "Oh no, this is that." It's a rhythm that... I play 'Shape of You' with Beoga, an Irish traditional band as well. And it really works with Baron too. So, it's just a rhythm that I believe is a universal one, basically.

Ed Sheeran discusses with Apple Music the variety of his musical output...

I believe I've come to understand that a discography or set list requires all these songs. If I were to play only slow ballads for two and a half hours, it would become monotonous. I appreciate where 'Shape of You' is placed in the set. I also like where 'Azizam' is positioned. I enjoy where 'Hearts Don't Break Around' is in the set, as well as 'Afterglow' or 'Castle,' because they create an engaging mix of a performance where you can pull out different tracks based on your mood.

We recently performed in Marseille, and I could immediately tell they were crazy. So, you can add more energetic crazy songs, and it works well.

Ed Sheeran discusses with Apple Music the enduring influence of 'Shape of You'...

No one can take the song away. Just like 'Shape of You' exists, I'll always be able to play it. I will keep on creating music and releasing it. However, I'm thankful for songs like this, which allow you to be anywhere in the world and still bring joy to someone with just a guitar.

From Slogan to Action: Mahama's Revived Drive for Progress

From Slogan to Action: Mahama's Revived Drive for Progress

By Constance Gbedzo

In my earlier article, which was featured in the B&FT on Thursday, 18th April 2024, titled 'The Cost of Following Poor Corporate Governance Practices for the People of Ghana', I aimed to bring to the attention of Ghanaian leaders Section 36 (1) within the Directive Principles of State Policy and Economic Objectives, which states that 'the State must take all necessary measures to ensure that the national economy is managed in a way that maximizes economic growth and ensures the greatest possible well-being, freedom, and happiness for every individual in Ghana, while also providing sufficient means of subsistence, suitable employment, and public support for those in need'.

It was clear at that time that 'the state has truly let its people down.' 'Leadership, over the years, has promised the youth hope but delivered despair instead.' 'It seems that Ghana is functioning without a clear objective, which is why we continually lose direction in bringing about social and economic progress for the people.' 'Those responsible for managing the Ghanaian economy have made the issues more complicated than they need to be.' There was a strong appeal that 'they must simplify Ghana's development programs to focus on the productive parts of the economy and make more careful decisions.' 'Clearly, we need to establish our nation's purpose. This purpose determines the level of our shared commitment to accomplish something, living with a plan, aiming for a goal, and striving to achieve that plan.'

Nevertheless, it is becoming evident that in a political environment frequently marked by grand promises and broken commitments, His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama seems resolved to change the story.

Having recently assumed office for a non-consecutive second term in January 2025, Mahama has quickly begun transforming his campaign promises into tangible initiatives, showcasing a fresh dedication to tackling Ghana's significant economic and social issues. The belief that "the leader truly matters" is strongly reinforced by the initial steps taken by President Mahama.

His rapid shift from campaign pledges to concrete policy execution, especially regarding the 24-Hour Economy, highlights a forward-thinking and outcome-focused strategy that could greatly influence Ghana's socio-economic development.

In numerous ways, the President's early actions demonstrate the significance of strong leadership.

  • Translating Vision into Action:The 24-Hour Economy played a key role in his election platform. The official launch occurring only a few months into his presidency, along with comprehensive policy papers and an advisory panel, indicates a strong determination to go beyond mere talk. This swift action demonstrates a leader who is resolute and dedicated to fulfilling his pledges.
  • Strategic Economic Overhaul:President Mahama highlighted that the 24-Hour Economy is not merely about increasing working hours, but rather a broad strategy aimed at boosting productivity, creating more opportunities, and speeding up exports through carefully planned and inclusive measures, making it a multi-dimensional approach. It involves tax breaks, reduced electricity rates, expedited regulatory approvals, and better access to financing for businesses that operate continuously. This holistic method, intended to enhance productivity, exports, and employment, reflects thoughtful planning and an awareness of the interrelated nature of economic elements. The initiative seeks to drive economic expansion, generate high-income jobs, and increase Ghana's competitiveness globally. It is expected to influence several sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and public entities with significant customer volumes like ports and harbors.
  • Addressing Core Economic Challenges:Mahama's emphasis on sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and export diversification tackles Ghana's prolonged dependence on unprocessed commodity exports. The creation of anAccelerated Export Development Advisory Panel, led by the President personally, highlights this dedication, with an objective to increase Ghana's non-traditional export revenues from $3.5 billion per year to a minimum of $10 billion by 2030. Clearly, President Mahama is establishing challenging yet quantifiable goals that, if met, could significantly reshape Ghana's economic and social environment.
  • Financial Accountability and Tax Policy Changes:The removal of unliked taxes such as the E-Levy, betting tax, and emissions tax, as mentioned in his administration's 2025 budget, offers real support to individuals and companies. Although this poses a difficulty for generating income, it also shows an openness to public opinion and a desire to reduce the pressure on regular Ghanaians. The implementation of new financial guidelines, such as an Independent Fiscal Council and a limit on debt, further demonstrates a dedication to prudent economic management.
  • Prioritizing Social Welfare:In addition to economic renewal, Mahama's government is showing a forward-thinking approach towards social welfare and leadership. The swift focus on older adults, such as initiatives to enhance the pension system and improve the National Health Insurance Scheme, reflects a leader who values social support systems and the respect due to the elderly. Bringing back free sanitary products for female students and increasing access to education also show this dedication.
  • Future Goals and Organizational Development:President Mahama has assigned the newly established 8th National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) the responsibility of merging current long-term development strategies into a single, consistent plan that goes beyond political terms. This initiative mirrors Ghana's first President Kwame Nkrumah's idea for sustained national progress, seeking to decrease dependence on raw materials and promote lasting growth. The goal is to ensure stability and consistency in national development, regardless of shifts in leadership, showcasing a sophisticated and progressive approach.
  • International Engagement:In keeping with his longstanding dedication to social justice, President Mahama has also been a strong voice on the global stage. In February 2025, during the 38th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly, he urged unified efforts regarding reparations for historical wrongs experienced by Africans and people of African heritage, in line with the AU’s Agenda 2063. This highlights a wider perspective that goes beyond national boundaries, establishing Ghana as a leader in tackling regional challenges. His clear readiness to support pan-African causes enhances Ghana's standing internationally.

Although Ghana continues to face major challenges such as ongoing economic difficulties and the necessity for debt restructuring, President Mahama's first few months in power show a strong commitment to moving past empty promises. His government's emphasis on practical execution, forming strategic alliances, and adopting a comprehensive strategy for national progress indicates a genuine attempt to meet the expectations of Ghanaians. The shift "from slogan to action" demands firm political resolve, effective team formation, and a well-defined plan, all of which appear to be characteristics of the President's current strategy. The upcoming months will certainly assess the success of these efforts, but the initial signs point to a leader dedicated to tangible actions rather than just empty words.

At heart, President John Mahama's initial steps in his second term reveal a leader who is not only clear in his vision but also deeply involved in the complex aspects of putting policies into action. Although the ultimate effectiveness of these efforts is yet to be determined, the early showing of leadership in turning pledges into real strategies is a strong sign that the leader does make a difference.

As a business development specialist and social entrepreneur, my recommendation to Ghanaians is that President John Mahama's efforts, especially the 24-Hour Economy, offer a major chance for us to enhance our economic situation and support national growth. To make the most of these policies, individuals, business owners, and companies should be active and plan wisely.

It is essential to remain updated, take part in national discussions, build connections and work together, adopt digital changes, and maintain financial responsibility. By actively involving themselves and gaining a clear understanding of President Mahama's programs, Ghanaians can place themselves in a position to gain personal advantages while also making a substantial contribution to the country's economic renewal and development.

TikTok Stars Reveal Secrets to Oasis' Manchester Gig Invite

Concerns are rising that Oasis' return concert in Manchester might be flooded by fans without tickets due to "reckless" TikTok users.shared tips on how to enter the field.

The group is scheduled to perform in front of 80,000 attendees tonight, marking the start of five fully booked performances at Heaton Park, following the launch of their global tour in Cardiff last week.

With demand significantly exceeding supply for the concerts - their first in Manchester in 16 years -TikTokPeople have started exchanging advice on ways to bypass security measures.

One recommendation was to climb trees in order to reach the double fence or try swimming across the park's boating lake.

"We need to climb over this fence here... and then you're all set for Oasis," a TikToker said to his followers.

Another person said, "Once you enter the water, you must swim, and then you'll be in."

Manchester City Council has criticized the videos and encouraged supporters without tickets to appreciate the 'excellent' ambiance in the city center.

The Greater Manchester Police have pledged a "large and clearly noticeable law enforcement effort" to prevent criminals.

The Heaton Park dates are the only UK performances held beyond a stadium, while the rest are scheduled at the Principality Stadium, Wembley, and Murrayfield.

The 600-acre area serves as the location for the annual Parklife festival and was where Oasis performed their final show in the city on June 7, 2009.

Last year, authorities issued a removal order for the park to stop un-ticketed supporters from assembling outside.

SJM Concerts, the company behind the events, stated that 2,000 stewards and a "notable number" of police officers would be present at the event.

"We've been collaborating with different councils and emergency services for over a year to make sure the Oasis performances at Heaton Park are secure for all ticket holders. Anyone without a ticket is advised not to go to Heaton Park," said Rob Ballantine, director of SJM Concerts, to the Guardian.

We know about the TikTok videos, but what is not visible is the presence of 2,000 stewards, along with a considerable number of police officers who will be monitoring the area, as well as the double fence surrounding the whole site with mobile security positioned between the fences.

Local council member John Hacking labeled the TikTok videos as 'unwise'.

"It is worrying and irresponsible for people to promote such careless actions in others, as well as to urge individuals to endanger their safety in this manner," he stated.

Fans without tickets should not go to Heaton Park. They are advised to head to the city center, where they will experience a great atmosphere and numerous activities taking place on concert days to participate in and enjoy.

The siblings revealed the Oasis Live '25 tour in August last year, starting with two dates in Cardiff, before traveling across the UK and Ireland.

Although supporters were thrilled about the reunion, some wereleft furious following a rise in standard tickets in the UK and Ireland, from £148 to £355.

The debate led the Government and the UK's competition regulator to commit to examining the application of dynamic pricing.

After their Manchester performances, Oasis willExplore Wembley Stadium in London, Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, and Croke Park in Dublin during the months of July, August, and September.

The group will next travel to Japan, South Korea, South America, Australia, and North America.

A movie created by Steven Knight, the mastermind behind Peaky Blindersis being produced in collaboration with the reunion tour.

Based in Manchester since 1991, the rock group was guided by lead guitarist Noel and his brother, lead singer Liam, throughout their 18-year collaboration.

Oasis was affiliated with the independent record label Creation Records in 1993,gaining recognition after the launch of their first number-one album Definitely Maybe on August 29, 1994.

They achieved success with tracks such as Don't Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall, and Live Forever.

The band's final studio album, "Dig Out Your Soul," came out in 2008, shortly before the incident in Paris.
