Scouted: Hate Running? This Treadmill Turns Exercise Into a Game

Featured Image

A Unique Approach to Fitness

For those who are serious about running, the Aviron Victory treadmill might not be the best choice. However, if you're looking for creative ways to stay motivated and push through your workouts, this treadmill offers a fresh and engaging approach that can help you stay committed to your fitness goals.

Design and Features

The Aviron Victory treadmill is designed with practicality in mind. It has a low deck that sits just four inches tall at its highest point, making it feel more like running outdoors. The treadmill comes with a 22-inch touchscreen monitor that provides a variety of entertainment options. In addition to standard streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu, the Aviron Victory includes apps such as Kindle and TikTok, allowing users to continue their reading or scrolling without interrupting their workout.

The treadmill also supports native music streaming from Spotify and Apple Music, offering a seamless experience for users who want to enjoy their favorite tunes while exercising. But what truly sets the Aviron Victory apart is its integration of games that make working out more enjoyable.

Gamification of Workouts

One of the standout features of the Aviron Victory is its gamified approach to exercise. The treadmill includes brightly colored, addictive games that encourage users to push their limits. For instance, one game involves using speed and incline to control a fire hose and put out fires in an endless row of burning buildings. Increasing the pace boosts water pressure, while adjusting the incline allows users to aim at different levels of the building.

Another game transforms running into a thrilling adventure, where users navigate a flying car around an illustrated lava lake, collecting points by passing through Sonic-style rings. This kind of interactive gameplay makes even the most mundane workouts exciting and engaging.

Personalization and Competition

The Aviron Victory allows users to create unique profiles for each member of the household. This feature enables friendly competition, as users can challenge each other for high scores. If you have friends who also own an Aviron treadmill, you can host real-time competitions. For those seeking more motivation, there are global leaderboards where users can compete against others worldwide. Additionally, the treadmill allows users to compare their current performance with their past runs, providing a sense of progress and achievement.

Virtual Environments and Training

For those who prefer a more relaxing workout, the Aviron Victory offers virtual environments that transport users to scenic locations. Imagine walking through the winding streets of Ribeauvillé, France, or exploring the sweeping mountains of Oregon’s Lewis and Clark National Park. These videos include ambient sounds that enhance the immersive experience, and the video speeds up to match the user's pace, creating a natural and enjoyable workout environment.

Trainer-led classes are also available for those who want to push their limits and improve their performance. Whether you're looking to stay motivated, relax, or challenge yourself, the Aviron Victory offers a variety of options to suit different preferences.

A New Perspective on Fitness

While there are many treadmills on the market that promise to help users run faster, farther, and with better form, the Aviron Victory takes a different approach. Instead of focusing solely on physical performance, it emphasizes making the workout experience fun and engaging. This shift in focus can be incredibly beneficial for those who struggle with staying motivated.

Although the Aviron Victory may not have made me look forward to jogging, it has successfully distracted me during my workouts. By taking my attention away from the clock, I've found that time passes more quickly, and I'm able to complete my sessions without feeling like I'm stuck on a treadmill. Plus, the possibility of earning a spot on the monthly leaderboard adds an extra layer of excitement.

Ultimately, the Aviron Victory treadmill is a great option for anyone looking to make their workouts more enjoyable and effective. With its combination of technology, gamification, and virtual environments, it offers a unique and compelling way to stay active and engaged.

Stardock's Elemental: Reforged Seeks to Complete Its 2008 Vision

Featured Image

A New Chapter for Stardock’s Fantasy 4X Vision

Stardock has once again set its sights on delivering an ambitious fantasy 4X experience with the release of Elemental: Reforged. This latest iteration is a complete rebuild and reimagining of the long-running series, which was first conceived in 2008 following the studio's success with titles like Galactic Civilizations II and Sins of a Solar Empire. The original vision for the Elemental series was to create the ultimate fantasy civilization experience. However, the technological limitations of the late 2000s—particularly the constraints of 32-bit computing—forced Stardock to scale back its initial ambitions.

The result was the 2010 launch of Elemental: War of Magic, a game that received praise for its innovative ideas but was plagued by technical issues and a reduced scope compared to what had been originally planned. Despite these challenges, the game laid the groundwork for future developments within the series.

Evolution Through Iteration

Learning from the struggles of Elemental, Stardock continued to refine its approach with subsequent titles such as Fallen Enchantress and Sorcerer King. These games introduced more robust questing and crafting systems, helping to move the series forward in meaningful ways. However, they still fell short of the original vision due to ongoing hardware constraints.

Now, with the advantage of a modern 64-bit engine and significant advancements in PC performance, Stardock claims that Elemental: Reforged will finally realize the full potential of the original concept. Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock Entertainment and lead designer of the Elemental franchise, emphasized this point: “With Elemental: Reforged, we’re finally able to deliver the original design we wanted.”

Wardell described the iterative process that led to this moment: “As we developed Elemental, we realized that the design wouldn’t fit in a 32-bit game and pared it down into Elemental: War of Magic, which still had challenges fitting into a 32-bit memory space. So then we made Elemental: Fallen Enchantress, which did much better but was still a shadow of what we had designed. Then we made Elemental: Sorcerer King, where we focused on the crafting and quest elements of the original design. Now, thanks to remastering the engine to 64-bit, we can actually make the full game we originally envisioned in 2008.”

Features and Innovations

Elemental: Reforged is set to integrate the best elements from each previous release while introducing all-new features. Players can expect dynamic procedural worlds, RPG-inspired unit customization, intricate narrative quests, and more. The game allows players to craft heroes and factions with unique backgrounds, witness environments shift in response to magic, and engage in detailed tactical combat. The AI system offers flexibility, either streamlining or deepening empire management based on player preferences.

From early previews, the game looks stunning. As someone who loves fantasy and strategy games, the evolution of the Elemental series with this new iteration is genuinely exciting.

A Unique Blend of Strategy and RPG

“What makes Elemental unique is that it’s a strategy game in an RPG world,” Wardell added. “The world really is your sandbox. You can create your own character and even your own faction to bring into this world.”

In addition to gameplay features, Stardock is promising a modern visual overhaul powered by DirectX 11. The game will also offer seamless strategic and tactical views, a rebuilt user interface, and deeply integrated modding tools—complete with Steam Workshop support. For fans of the series, these renewed efforts go beyond what many may have expected and appear poised to deliver a game that surpasses the original vision.

Stardock’s Legacy in Strategy Gaming

Stardock Entertainment, based in Plymouth, Michigan, has a long legacy in strategy and simulation gaming. The studio began in 1993 with Galactic Civilizations and has since continued with genre staples such as Sins of a Solar Empire and Ashes of the Singularity. While no firm release date has been announced, fans eager to experience Elemental: Reforged can head over to Steam to add it to their wishlist.

I Rewatched Inception for Its 15th Anniversary and Felt a New Direction from Nolan

Featured Image

The Rise and Rarity of Original Sci-Fi in Modern Cinema

The 2026 movie schedule is already shaping up to be a blockbuster year, with a variety of films set to hit the big screen. However, one aspect that seems to be missing from the lineup is original science fiction. The kind of sci-fi that challenges the mind and sparks deep discussions, like Inception.

For those who may not be familiar, Inception is widely regarded as one of Christopher Nolan’s most acclaimed films. It follows a thief who infiltrates the subconscious of individuals to steal secrets, creating a complex narrative that blends reality with dreams. The film is known for its intricate plot, stunning visuals, and thought-provoking themes. It's a movie that has left audiences scratching their heads for years, sparking endless debates about its ending and meaning.

Despite being over a decade old, Inception remains a standout in the sci-fi genre. It's considered one of the best sci-fi films of the last ten years and possibly of all time. What makes it so special is its originality. Unlike many modern films, Inception wasn't based on a book, a comic, or any pre-existing IP. It was a completely new idea conceived by Nolan himself.

The Decline of Original Sci-Fi Ideas

Today, it feels like we're seeing fewer original sci-fi films. Instead, the industry is flooded with sequels, reboots, and adaptations. While some of these are well-received, there's a noticeable lack of fresh, innovative ideas. For example, upcoming releases like Predator: Badlands and Project Hail Mary are based on existing properties, which is a trend that has been growing for years.

This shift raises questions about the direction of the film industry. Are studios prioritizing safe bets over creative risks? Are audiences more interested in familiar stories than in exploring new worlds? The answer isn't clear-cut, but it's evident that original sci-fi is becoming a rare commodity.

Christopher Nolan and the Future of Sci-Fi

Christopher Nolan has a unique talent for crafting compelling sci-fi narratives. His work on Interstellar and Tenet showcases his ability to blend scientific concepts with emotional storytelling. Even The Prestige, while more of a mystery thriller, has elements that can be classified as sci-fi. These films demonstrate his versatility and vision.

Nolan's latest project, The Odyssey, has generated a lot of excitement, but fans are also hoping he will return to the sci-fi genre. There's something about his approach that sets him apart from other directors. He doesn't just tell stories; he creates immersive experiences that challenge the audience's perceptions.

While Nolan has successfully ventured into biographical and historical films, there's a growing desire for more original sci-fi from him. Many believe that his unique perspective could bring a fresh wave of creativity to the genre.

A Call for More Original Stories

As much as people enjoy adaptations and sequels, there's a craving for something new. Original sci-fi offers the opportunity to explore uncharted territories and imagine possibilities beyond our current understanding. It's a genre that thrives on innovation and imagination.

So, as we look ahead to the future of cinema, there's hope that more original sci-fi stories will emerge. Films that push boundaries, spark conversations, and inspire audiences. And if Christopher Nolan decides to dive back into the genre, it could be a game-changer for the industry.

For now, the legacy of Inception continues to live on. Fans will keep rewatching it, trying to unravel its mysteries, and appreciating the brilliance of a film that stands out in a sea of reboots and remakes.

Stay Agile: How Top Tech is Reshaping Modern Work

Stay Agile: How Top Tech is Reshaping Modern Work

By Allen OLAYIWOLA

The modern workplace is unrecognizable compared to five years ago. Agile work approaches are no longer just a trend; they have become essential, particularly in a rapidly changing economy such as Ghana's. With remote work, flexible hours, and technology-driven collaboration becoming standard, the question now is no longerif\xa0businesses should adapt, but\xa0how quicklythey can.

To fulfill the commitment to agility, Ghanaian companies must move past policy. They should adopt the appropriate technologies that drive collaboration, automation, and creativity. Here are five major technology trends transforming the agile work environment in Ghana and how local businesses can fully benefit from them.

  1. Technology for collaboration – Fostering connectivity between regions

Digital meeting spaces such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Slack have emerged as essential tools in modern work environments. As remote and hybrid working trends grow in Ghana, these platforms are becoming increasingly important.

Microsoft Teams, for instance, is constantly enhancing its capabilities. In 2025, upcoming updates feature real-time captioning, support for multiple languages, and AI-powered background noise reduction – all aimed at making online meetings as smooth as in-person interactions. No matter if your team is located in Accra, Tamale, or working remotely from Cape Coast, these features enable effortless communication, file sharing, and tracking of work progress. For businesses in Ghana with staff across different regions or consultants abroad, it's a significant advancement.

  1. Automated processes – Enhancing productivity for expansion

Agile work focuses on speed and accuracy. Workflow automation helps companies anticipate delays, minimize mistakes, and make the best use of time.

Imagine this: customer service inquiries are automatically sorted and directed to the appropriate agent; bills are handled without any human involvement; alerts are set up and sent without any effort required. This is already taking place in Ghana's banking, telecommunications, and online commerce industries. While the upfront cost of automation might appear high, it leads to long-term savings by minimizing the need for additional employees and allowing your team to concentrate on strategic tasks that truly add value. More small and medium-sized enterprises in Ghana are beginning to adopt automation solutions for managing stock, customer relationship management, payroll, and transportation.

  1. Artificial Intelligence (AI): Enhancing Intelligent Work Environments

Artificial intelligence is not concerned with robots taking control. In the Ghanaian work environment, it focuses on enhancing employee efficiency and relieving them of monotonous duties.

Consider Intelligent Virtual Agents (IVAs), which can manage simple questions like "What are your operating hours?" or "How do I reset my password?" These bots never become exhausted, never miss a script, and provide 24/7 assistance. This allows your human team to concentrate on more complicated customer engagements or business expansion efforts. Across sectors such as fintech and online learning platforms in Ghana, AI is enhancing customer service to be more efficient and adaptable.

  1. Workforce optimization – Enhancing efficiency from any location

Ghanaian professionals, particularly the younger generation, are seeking more adaptable work arrangements. Agile working focuses on trusting your team to achieve outcomes rather than monitoring hours worked. Workforce optimization tools assist managers in assessing productivity, distributing resources effectively, and identifying performance issues—without the need for constant oversight. Through real-time dashboards, automated timesheets, and performance monitoring, these systems are enabling companies to function more efficiently. Moreover, they contribute to reducing employee exhaustion, increasing engagement, and enhancing retention—key factors in Ghana's competitive job market.

  1. Abandoning old technology – It's time to move on

Clinging to old systems is a major obstacle to flexibility. However, numerous companies in Ghana still use outdated technology – such as paper files, old software, or outdated equipment.

What's the cost? Increased security vulnerabilities, slower performance, and difficulty in integrating with current platforms. Indeed, sticking with outdated technology hinders the ability to attract younger workers who prefer digital-centric workspaces. It's high time to enhance your infrastructure, move to cloud-based solutions, and provide your team with tools that facilitate modern processes. The worldwide elimination of legacy systems is speeding up, and Ghanaian companies should not fall behind.

Conclusion – The future of employment is flexible – and driven by technology

For businesses in Ghana, being agile goes beyond just being adaptable – it's about strength, quick reaction, and significance. Whether you're a startup in Osu or a medium-sized company in Kumasi, using the appropriate technologies helps you remain competitive in a world that prioritizes digital solutions. By investing in communication tools, utilizing automation and AI, streamlining processes, and moving away from outdated systems, companies in Ghana can build settings where employees excel and clients remain committed.

Focus on efficiency. Embrace flexibility. Plan with the future ahead.

Navy Hosts IMDEC 2025 to Strengthen Maritime Security and Advance Blue Economy

Navy Hosts IMDEC 2025 to Strengthen Maritime Security and Advance Blue Economy

By Christabel Danso ABEAM

The Ghana Navy will host the 4th edition of the International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (IMDEC 2025) on July 8-9 in Accra. This two-day gathering seeks to unite over 500 prominent attendees from more than 70 countries to address the increasing challenges and possibilities within Africa's maritime region.

Introduced in 2019, the two-year initiative has gradually evolved into a key platform for international discussions on maritime safety. The conference this year takes place as the region faces growing maritime challenges, including piracy, unauthorized fishing, cybercrime, and economic disruption.

The IMDEC 2025 conference will gather regional and global Chiefs of Naval Staff, business leaders, and government officials to work together and examine innovative approaches that safeguard the crucial economic zone. The gathering is anticipated to include panel debates, interactive workshops, and a state-of-the-art maritime technology showcase.

"Only by integrating innovative policy structures with practical and achievable strategies, like those outlined in IMDEC 2025, can we effectively manage the challenges of change," stated Commodore Ben Baba Abdul, Chief Staff Officer of Naval Headquarters, during his speech at a media event in Accra.

IMDEC 2025 aims to promote robust cooperation between governments, navies, and the private sector in addressing both conventional and unconventional security issues. As threats like smuggling, piracy, economic disruption, and terrorism grow more technologically advanced, organizers emphasize that long-term multilateral partnerships are essential. The event will also provide a platform to highlight achievements in maritime security within the Gulf of Guinea, alongside presenting a plan for the sustainable development of the marine industry.

Exhibition

The showcase portion of IMDEC 2025 will highlight cutting-edge maritime innovations such as satellite image solutions, self-driving ships, intelligent ports, radar systems, and blockchain-based logistics networks. Meanwhile, defense firms from around the globe are set to display equipment designed to enhance the capabilities of African navies in addressing cross-border maritime challenges. As stated by the Chief Staff Officer, these technologies are crucial not only for strengthening defense but also for upgrading port security, cargo handling, and blue economy infrastructure.

Other notable features of IMDEC 2025

Mr. Abdul also mentioned that a key topic at this year's event will be the growing risk of cybercrime in the maritime sector. "With digitalization changing conventional shipping and port activities, coast guards and navies are encountering complex security issues targeting automated systems and data networks. Cybersecurity has emerged as a vital maritime security concern since it affects economic service providers and the navies' ability to ensure maritime safety."

The head of staff recognized the media's essential role in informing the public, particularly regarding issues involving maritime risks and opportunities, and directed the sector to make every effort to increase awareness about the economic benefits of ocean management and the latest developments in the maritime field.

Global impact

The Ghanaian Navy, collaborating with global organizations, will leverage the results of IMDEC 2025 to shape international maritime policy and strengthen Africa's role in the worldwide shipping industry. Conversations and collaborative initiatives started at the conference are anticipated to have a major effect on the maritime industry as well as global trade and security.

Prashant Pitti Honored with 2025 IDMA Person of the Year Award

New Delhi [India], July 18 (ANI): Co-founder of EaseMyTripPrashant Pitti was honoured with the IDMA'Person of the Year 2025' honors announced on Friday.

Pitti's journey toward achievement has been defined by resilience and resolve. As a business owner, he has encountered many obstacles, including countless sleepless nights spent searching for answers to difficult issues.

His path serves as evidence that attaining success as an entrepreneur usually requires time, commitment, and effort. For Pitti, it took nearly double the time compared to most entrepreneurs to reach his objectives.

"IDMAPerson of the Year 2025. This honor holds a special place for me. My goal has always been to be a good person, not just a successful businessperson. This recognition is dedicated to all those long, difficult nights when I felt lost, uncertain, afraid, and worked hard without seeing results or facing failure. For most people, becoming an entrepreneur takes a decade, but it took me almost double that time. Also, keep an eye on this space, as there are many updates coming regarding the next steps to enhance traffic in Bangalore," he shared on X.

https://x.com/ppitti/status/1946159022417281131

Apart from his career achievements, Pitti has also been involved in an initiative aimed at enhancing traffic situations in Bengaluru. Displeased with the city's well-known traffic jams, Pitti committed ₹1 crore to create an AI-based traffic control system utilizing Google Maps information and satellite images.

In a comprehensive update on X, Pitti mentioned that he was trapped in traffic for more than two hours while only managing to cover 11 km late at night in Bengaluru. He noted that the most challenging part was being stuck at a bottleneck on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) for 100 minutes, with no traffic signal or police presence around.

Nevertheless, he made it evident that he isn't looking to just voice complaints regarding the problem. "But I don't want another 'Bengaluru Traffic Meme or Complaint'. I WANT TO SOLVE IT," he stated.

Pitti mentioned that his project will leverage data from Google Maps, particularly the recently introduced "Road Management Insight" feature that debuted in April 2025. This city-specific data, accessible in Big Query format, can be combined with satellite images to detect all traffic bottlenecks and their associated timings throughout Bengaluru.

This effort seeks to detect and address traffic bottlenecks, decreasing congestion and improving the ease of daily commutes for residents.

The initiative will make use of Google Maps' "Road Management Insight" tool to collect and examine traffic information across the city. By integrating this data with satellite images.

The artificial intelligence system will detect areas of traffic congestion, examine time-related trends, and provide suggestions.

Pitti mentioned that he is prepared to begin his work once the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) provide access to raw data feeds or APIs and assign a dedicated team to implement the findings.

He encouraged people to assist by saying, "TAG someone you know in the Bangalore Traffic Office, BBMP, or the Traffic Commissioner's office, so this reaches the correct inbox."

Pitti's effort goes beyond addressing Bengaluru's traffic issues, aiming to develop a model that can be applied in other Indian cities. His dedication to leveraging technology for beneficial transformation serves as a motivating example for business leaders and residents alike. (ANI)

Edtech Insights: Kwame Nyatuame on Coding in Schools and the Digital Economy

Edtech Insights: Kwame Nyatuame on Coding in Schools and the Digital Economy

It's a Thursday morning at a modest public school in Ho. A group of JHS students gather eagerly around one laptop.

They aren't just having fun—they're creating basic code that causes a cat to move on the screen using Scratch, a graphical programming platform designed for newcomers. The laughter is noticeable, but even more prominent is the sound of the future resonating within that small classroom.

That's the significance of incorporating coding education in schools—it goes beyond merely producing software engineers. It's about equipping young individuals to comprehend, influence, and succeed in a digital-first economy that is already present. In this piece, we examine what coding in schools truly signifies for Ghana's growth, why it has become more crucial than ever, and how we can implement it effectively.

Why coding? Why now?

Coding is frequently referred to as the "literacy of the future." However, let's examine it closely. Similar to how learning to read enables us to comprehend our surroundings, learning to code empowers us to build and shape the digital world. We reside in a society driven by technology.

From the applications used to order meals, to the systems that handle banking, elections, and our medical records, software is quietly controlling everything. Those who can comprehend and develop this software are not just employees—they are designers of tomorrow. Therefore, when we educate children on programming, we are doing more than just filling their minds with code. We are helping them learn to think in a structured way, tackle challenges, and come up with solutions for themselves and their neighborhoods.

The rising enthusiasm for programming in Ghana

It's true that Ghana is beginning to recognize this situation. In 2019, the Ministry of Education launched the Coding for Kids initiative, teaching fundamental programming abilities in certain public schools. By 2024, more than 250 primary schools in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions have incorporated coding into their ICT syllabus—with intentions to extend it nationwide.

Several prominent Ghanaian Edtech projects in this area are:

  • Ghana Code Club –Established by Ernestina Appiah, this non-profit organization has exposed more than 20,000 children to programming through engaging, interactive approaches such as Scratch and Python.
  • Soronko Academy –The first coding and human-centered design institution for girls in Africa, established by Regina Honu. Soronko has equipped thousands of girls from marginalized communities with coding skills and the ambition to achieve great things.
  • Young and Heart Ghana –Via their Learning Lions initiative, they employ storytelling and game-based technological education to introduce children to digital abilities, such as fundamental programming concepts.

These efforts go beyond instructing in programming—they are transforming people's lives.

The African setting – A significant chance, an even greater duty

Throughout the continent, significant efforts are being made. Rwanda introduced coding as a required subject in schools in 2019. South Africa implemented a comprehensive coding curriculum for Grades R–9 in 2023. Kenya and Nigeria have put substantial resources into training teachers for digital skills education. According to a World Economic Forum report (2023), Africa's digital economy could reach US$712 billion by 2050—but only if we develop a workforce skilled in digital technologies. In Ghana, the Ghana Statistical Service and UNICEF note that fewer than 30 percent of basic school teachers feel confident incorporating digital tools into their teaching. This is a gap that needs to be addressed urgently.

The actual impact of programming on national development

Let’s bring this home.

Programming goes beyond creating applications. It's about developing mindsets—those essential for crafting a Ghana that we can all be proud of:

  • Young individuals equipped with the skills to leverage technology for addressing challenges within their local areas.
  • Skilled individuals capable of securing positions within Ghana's technology sector—or launching their own ventures.
  • Bold visionaries who don't merely use technology but develop it.
  • Innovators who create with compassion, keeping their community at heart.
  • Patriotic individuals who recognize that Ghana's future will be shaped not through assistance, but through innovative thoughts.

Picture young individuals developing waste management solutions through IoT, farmers utilizing AI-driven applications crafted by local programmers, or students designing platforms to aid learning in their mother tongues. This is the Ghana we need to code into reality.

But… Are we ready?

Certainly, there are difficulties.

  • Infrastructure: Numerous rural schools do not have access to computers or consistent power, let alone Wi-Fi.
  • Teacher Development: Many educators find programming challenging. Without adequate instruction, implementation may face delays.
  • Educational Structure: The present learning system continues to emphasize memorization, rather than fostering innovative thinking.

However, none of these difficulties are impossible to overcome. Through targeted investments, effective collaborations, and strong political commitment, Ghana has the potential to serve as an example of inclusive, technology-based education across Africa.

What steps can be taken?

  1. National programming curriculum – Ghana should officially integrate coding at the primary school level and develop a structured, culturally appropriate program.
  2. Support professional development for teachers – Provide our education professionals not only with technology, but also with self-assurance. A teacher proficient in digital skills plays a key role in shaping a country's future.
  3. Back local Edtech ventures – indigenous platforms have the deepest understanding of the Ghanaian environment. Let's invest in and expand them.
  4. Make programming enjoyable and relevant – Employ narratives, game elements, and practical projects that resonate with students' experiences – such as developing an app to report broken water wells or monitor market costs.
  5. Focus on girls and marginalized groups – fairness should be the core principle. Digital skills should not turn into a means that increases social inequalities.

Last reflections – Beyond a talent, a super ability

Frequently, we discuss the importance of expanding Ghana's economy beyond gold and cocoa. However, the most significant asset we possess is not found in the ground. It resides within the minds of our students. If we can educate them to code—encourage critical thinking, construction, learning from failure, perseverance, and innovation—we are not merely imparting a professional skill. We are bestowing upon them a remarkable ability.

A capability to envision. To address challenges. To create. And above all, to dream and bring forth a more improved, courageous Ghana. Let's incorporate this into our nation's narrative—one line of code at a time.

Chinese AI Stocks Rise on DeepSeek Momentum as Beijing Seeks Growth Boost

Chinese AI Stocks Rise on DeepSeek Momentum as Beijing Seeks Growth BoostArtificial intelligence is set to become "a key driver for China's modernization," according to Huachuang Securities, aligning with the positive perspective of Morgan Stanley, UBS, and other institutions.

Chinese artificial intelligence (AI)Stocks are anticipated to resist a slowdown in various sectors, as the mainland utilizes technology to enhance business efficiency and stimulate economic recovery, as per investors and analysts.

Companies including Meituan and Xiaomiwere expected to gain from an influx of AI adoption that would reshape business strategies, as per Morgan Stanley, with investors seeking new success stories followingDeepSeek's breakthroughIn the field of generative AI technology, China Asset Management, one of the largest mutual fund companies on the mainland, stated last month that the nation's AI implementation—currently at a 5 percent adoption rate—is poised for rapid expansion, akin to the growth of personal computers in the 1980s.

"Artificial intelligence is likely to serve as a major force behind China's modernization," stated Yao Pei, an analyst from Huachuang Securities, in a report released this month. "There are numerous factors driving AI development, and it is anticipated that AI will integrate into every sector," particularly in electronics, computing, and media, Yao mentioned.

DeepSeek's unexpected rise this year brought China's technology shares back into the public eye, fueling hope that the nation could still take the lead in AI despite U.S. export restrictions. Investors are now spotting fresh opportunities in the sector following their investments in platform-focused developers of large language models likeAlibaba Group Holding and Tencent Holdings. Alibaba holds ownership of the Post.

China's largest online travel agencyTrip.com Group, short-video platform operator Kuaishou Technology and budget e-commerce operator PDD Holdingsinclude companies that are poised to benefit from AI applications, as noted by Morgan Stanley. Additional possible winners are electric vehicle manufacturers.BYD and Nio, as well as a manufacturer of home appliancesMidea Group, it was mentioned in a report in May.

In contrast to the US, which held an advantage in AI computing, China prioritized efficiency—highlighting income derived from AI-driven products and cost reductions resulting from increased productivity, according to the US investment bank.

"A more competitive AI environment is expected, with DeepSeek possibly encouraging rivals like ByteDance, Tencent, Alibaba, and others to lower model costs and integrate AI into their business processes," it stated.

The worldwide AI infrastructure market, valued at $35.4 billion in 2023, is expected to expand at a yearly growth rate of 30 percent between 2024 and 2030, according to Kate Lakin, research director at Putnam Investments in the United States, in a report released last month. She noted that this growth might face temporary interruptions due to shifts in U.S. policies regarding technology exports to China and evolving tariff situations.

The global wealth management division of UBS stated in a report released on Tuesday that the enduring long-term development in artificial intelligence will continue to fuel growth within the technology sector, noting that the effect of American technological restrictions on major Chinese tech companies would be minimal.

"The advanced productive forces exemplified by AI are expected to serve as the key driver in overcoming the 'middle-income trap' and redefining the global economic structure," China Galaxy Securities stated in a report released in June.
